After a highly competitive selection process, UKCISA is pleased to announce that six new international students are joining the #WeAreInternational Student Ambassador programme.

The 2023-24 student ambassadors are:

  • Loan Thu Nguyen, University of Hull, Vietnam
  • Gino Obaseki, Glasgow Caledonian University, Nigeria
  • Miranda Hersco, University of Glasgow, Canada
  • Xiaoxiao Hou, University of Liverpool, China
  • Vartika Khandelwal, University of Liverpool, Kenya & India
  • Aditya Mehta, University of Leeds, India

This year, 128 international students studying at 35 member institutions across the UK, representing 25 countries and regions, applied to join the programme. After being reviewed by a group of 37 judges, 17 students were invited to be interviewed by a panel of experts from the education sector - with a final six selected from this group.

Yinbo Yu, Head of Engagement & Partnerships, UKCISA said: “International students are at the heart of everything we do at UKCISA. We are proud to work with them and learn from their experiences, and we're looking forward to working with the newly appointed student ambassadors. We would also like to thank our 2021-22 ambassadors, who will end their term with us this year."

The new student ambassadors will officially take up their posts in January 2023, joining the 2022-23 student ambassadors.
